Despite recent advances, prostate cancer (PCa) remains a leading cause of cancer morbidity and mortality. Clinically, PCa screening methods display low sensitivity and specificity, leading to suboptimal patient care. Recent research suggests that PCa progression is regulated by a coordinated spectrum of epigenetic alterations that notably involves noncoding RNAs.

Immunotherapies are revolutionizing the clinical management of a wide range of cancers. However, intrinsic or acquired unresponsiveness to immunotherapies does occur due to the dynamic cancer immunoediting which ultimately leads to immune escape. The evolutionarily conserved histone modifier enhancer of zeste 2 (EZH2) is aberrantly overexpressed in a number of human cancers.

Localized prostate cancer (PCa) is often curable, whereas metastatic disease treated by castration inevitably progresses toward castration-resistant PCa (CRPC). Most CRPC treatments target androgen receptor (AR) signaling. However, not all CRPC cells rely on AR activity for survival and proliferation.

Background: Docetaxel used for first-line treatment of advanced prostate cancer (PCa) is only marginally effective. We previously showed, using the LTL-313H subrenal capsule patient-derived metastatic PCa xenograft model, that docetaxel combined with Aneustat (OMN54), a multivalent plant-derived therapeutic, led to marked synergistic tumour growth inhibition. Here, we investigated the effect of docetaxel+Aneustat on metastasis.

Aim: Polycomb Group complexes are epigenetic repressors that silence tumor suppressive genes. Studies demonstrated that pharmacologic inhibition of Polycomb Group complexes with 3-deazaneplanocin A (DZNeP) induces cancer cell death by re-expressing silenced genes. Here we evaluate the prognostic significance of DZNeP target genes in gastric and breast cancer.
