- A one-year double-blind clinical study was conducted on Thai children and teenagers to assess the effects of an anticalculus dentifrice compared to a placebo and usual oral hygiene practices.
- Subjects were evaluated for calculus and gingival recession before being assigned to use either an anticalculus dentifrice, a placebo dentifrice, or continue standard oral hygiene procedures.
- Results showed that the anticalculus dentifrice resulted in significant reductions in supragingival calculus (37.01%) and gingival recession (25.09%) compared to the placebo, and even greater reductions compared to usual practices (34.86% for calculus, 29.95% for recession), demonstrating its effectiveness.
