Background/aim: Glioblastomas (GBM) are infiltrative malignant brain tumors which mostly recur within a year's time following surgical resection and chemo-radiation therapy. Studies on glioblastoma cells following radio-chemotherapy, have been demonstrated to induce trans-differentiation, cellular plasticity, activation of DNA damage response and stemness. As glioblastomas are heterogenous tumors that develop treatment resistance and plasticity, we investigated if there exist genome-wide DNA methylation changes in recurrent tumors.

Establishing a heterostructure is one of the adequate strategies for enhancing device performance and has been explored in sensing, and energy applications. In this study, we constructed a heterostructure through a two-step process involving hydrothermal synthesis of CuO nanostructures and subsequent spin coating on MBE-grown InGaN NRs. We found that the CuO content on the InGaN NRs has a great impact on carrier injection at the heterojunction and thus the HS gas sensing performance.

Cyclin F, unlike canonical and transcriptional cyclins, does not bind or activate any cyclin-dependent kinases. Instead, it harbors an F-box motif and primarily functions as the substrate recognition subunit of the Skp1-Cul1-F-box E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, SCF . By targeting specific proteins for ubiquitin-mediated proteasomal degradation, cyclin F plays a critical role in the regulation of centrosomal duplication, DNA replication and repair, and maintenance of genomic stability.
