Levels of Cytomegalovirus-Reactive Antibody and γδ T Cell Phenotypes Align with Vascular Changes in People Living With HIV.

People living with HIV (PLWH) beginning antiretroviral therapy (ART) retain a high burden of cytomegalovirus (CMV). CMV has been implicated in atherosclerosis in healthy adults, and a role in PLWH is plausible. Atherosclerosis has also been linked with γδ T cells and CMV seropositivity with altered γδ T cell profiles in other populations.

Introduction: Some people living with HIV (PLWH) receiving ART in Indonesia display poor clearance of replicating virus. This has been associated with HIV-associated sensory neuropathy. Here we assess whether treatment failure reflects the presence of drug resistance mutations.

The evolution of a quality improvement curriculum in a family nurse practitioner residency program.

There is a wide variation in the curricular emphasis and implementation nationally across programs for teaching quality improvement (QI) in family nurse practitioner (FNP) programs. This variation among curriculum plans often leaves NP graduates unsure as to how to identify and effect change within their organizations. This manuscript describes the development of an initial QI curriculum and subsequent enhancements over a 3-year time frame and outlines the curriculum development process, implementation, and program outcomes within an FNP residency program.

The PRE-registration podiatry: Accessible recruitment and employment (PREPARE) project: A commentary on the novel approach to the podiatry workforce crisis in Glasgow.

The profession of podiatry is facing significant workforce challenges and urgent solutions are required to increase workforce capacity. Apprenticeship models are available in England but as yet, not available in Scotland. This paper explores the local context of the current workforce challenges and summarises a novel solution collaboratively developed in Glasgow.

Assessing the impact of different assumptions on the size of a Mixture Assessment Factor (MAF) for chemical mixtures in surface waters using data from three recent monitoring studies.

Mixture Assessment Factors (MAFs) have been proposed in the European Union (EU) as a rapid and simple way of protecting aquatic organisms from the combined effects of unintentional chemical mixtures when regulating industrial chemicals under the REACH (EU Regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorisation, and restriction of chemicals) program. A wide range of values has been suggested for the MAF including values of 20 or larger. In this paper we performed a series of case studies using composition data from 46,546 mixtures reported in three surveys of chemicals in EU surface waters.
