The present study aimed to enhance the fat quality of bakery products by incorporating an oleogel enriched with unsaturated fatty acids and nutraceuticals. The efficacy of cross-linking chitosan with vanillin was evaluated using an emulsion-template technique. This approach utilized a blend of rice bran oil and soybean oil fortified with β-sitosterol, which partially replaced conventional shortening in cookie formulations.

Background: Quiescence is reversible proliferative arrest. Multiple mechanisms regulate quiescence that are not fully understood. High expression of the CDK inhibitor p21 correlates with a poor prognosis in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and, in non-transformed cells, p21 promotes quiescence after replication stress.

Background: (CT), a Gram-negative intracellular bacterium, is differentiated into three biovars associated with distinct clinical syndromes, ranging from trachoma, the world's cause of preventable blindness, to the most common sexually transmitted infection. This variability underscores CT's significant impact on public health, particularly in low-resource settings. In Kenya, where the demographic is predominantly younger, the burden of CT remains poorly understood and potentially underestimated.

In recent years, the advances in high-throughput and deep sequencing have generated a diverse amount of adaptive immune repertoire data. This surge in data has seen a proportional increase in computational methods aimed to characterize T cell receptor (TCR) repertoires. In this perspective, we will provide a brief commentary on the various domains of TCR repertoire analysis, their respective computational methods, and the ongoing challenges.
