In the Faroe Islands, a clustering of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) was observed on the geographically isolated island, Suðuroy. This study aims to estimate the frequency of familial ALS (fALS) in the Faroes including 43 patients diagnosed with ALS.
