Background: Capmatinib has previously shown activity in treatment-naive and previously treated patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and a MET exon 14-skipping mutation (METex14). Here, we report the final outcomes from the phase 2 GEOMETRY mono-1 study with an aim to provide further evidence for the activity of capmatinib.

Methods: In this non-randomised, multi-cohort, open-label, phase 2 trial conducted in 152 centres and hospitals in 25 countries, with patients treated in 95 centres in 20 countries, eligible patients (aged ≥18 years) with MET-dysregulated, EGFR wild-type, and ALK rearrangement-negative advanced NSCLC (stage IIIB/IV) and an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status of 0 or 1 were assigned to cohorts (1a, 1b, 2, 3, 4, 5a, 5b, 6 and 7) based on their MET status (METex14 or MET amplification) and previous therapy lines.

Low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) and anti-Xa direct oral anti-coagulants (DOACs) are recommended for the long-term treatment of cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT) based on well-documented randomised controlled trials. Anti-Xa DOACs are viewed as a first choice for the treatment of patients with CAT. A large number of drug-drug interactions have been reported between DOACs and chemotherapy drugs, modifying circulating levels of DOAC leading to fears of increased bleeding risks or thrombotic recurrence.

Background: We evaluated the disease and patient characteristics, treatment, and MET testing patterns, predictive biomarkers and survival outcomes in patients with MET-dysregulated metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in a real-world setting.

Patients And Methods: This was a multinational, retrospective, noninterventional chart review study. Data from medical records of patients with advanced/metastatic EGFR wild-type, MET-dysregulated NSCLC (December 2017-September 2018) were abstracted into electronic data collection forms.

Article Synopsis
  • Older COVID-19 patients, particularly those over 60 with comorbidities and frailty, face higher risks of mortality; thus, care limitations may be necessary for those with severe pneumonia and poor prognosis.
  • This study evaluated the outcomes of these patients treated with high flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) outside of ICU settings, aiming to assess survival rates and identify factors influencing HFNO success or failure.
  • Results indicated that 73% of the 56 patients studied died within 30 days; HFNO failed in 66% of cases, with certain clinical signs before treatment linked to higher mortality rates.

Introduction: The objective of this study was to assess the cost-effectiveness of atezolizumab versus best supportive care (BSC) as adjuvant treatment following resection and platinum-based chemotherapy for patients with stage II-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumours have a programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression ≥ 50% of tumour cells and excluding those with ALK/EGFR mutations, from a French collective perspective.

Material And Methods: A five state Markov model over a 20-year time horizon was considered, including disease-free survival (DFS) from IMpower010 trial, three progression states (locoregional recurrence, first and second-line metastatic recurrence) and death. Utilities, quality-adjusted life year (QALY) decrements associated to adverse events, costs, resource use, and transition probabilities were considered in the model.
