[Portrayal of dentists in films].

To analyze the portrayal of dentists in films, 259 films from the period 1907 - 2018 featuring one or more dentists, were systematically analyzed. A total of 333 dentists were identified, mostly of Caucasian origin (85%) and male (86%). 228 dentists depicted dental procedures, sometimes using gloves (41%), (splash) glasses (35%), and mouth masks (24%).
