This scoping review explores (a) how k-12 schools facilitate social inclusion, specifically for students with extensive support needs (ESN) and (b) how those intervention approaches are measured. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated pulmonary aspergillosis (CAPA) is a life-threatening complication in patients with severe COVID-19. Previously, acute respiratory distress syndrome in patients with COVID-19 has been associated with lung fungal dysbiosis, evidenced by reduced microbial diversity and colonization. Increased fungal burden in the lungs of critically ill COVID-19 patients is linked to prolonged mechanical ventilation and increased mortality.

Diffusion-ordered NMR spectroscopy (DOSY) is a powerful tool to analyse mixtures. Spatially encoded (SPEN) DOSY enables recording a full DOSY dataset in just one scan by performing spatial parallelisation of the gradient dimension. The simplest and most widely used approach to processing DOSY data is to fit each peak in the spectrum with a single or multiple exponential decay.

Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers created a library of 111 genetically modified Aspergillus fumigatus mutants to identify important antifungal targets, discovering that a specific kinase, YakA, is crucial for regulating susceptibility to azoles and pathogenicity.
  • * The study found that inhibiting YakA not only weakens the fungus's ability to grow and invade tissues but also enhances the effectiveness of azoles when combined with a compound (1-ECBC), suggesting a potential avenue for improving treatment.
