Background: Numerous studies have demonstrated limited survival benefits of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) alone in the treatment of intermediate-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) beyond up-to-seven criteria. The advent of immunotherapy, particularly immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), has opened new avenues for HCC treatment. However, TACE combined with ICIs has not been investigated for patients with intermediate-stage HCC beyond the up-to-seven criteria.

Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) represent a large group of rare and ultra-rare tumors distinguished by unique morphological, molecular and clinical features. Patients with such rare cancers are generally underrepresented in clinical trials which has limited the introduction of new treatment options and subsequent improvement of patient outcomes. Preclinical models of STS that recapitulate the human disease can aid progress in identifying new effective treatments.

Background: Managing postoperative pain and stress response was critical in laparoscopic myomectomy, a procedure for uterine fibroids. Ropivacaine transversus abdominis plane block (RTAPB) may offer enhanced analgesic efficacy and reduced stress responses compared to traditional analgesia.

Methods: This retrospective analysis examined 217 patients undergoing laparoscopic myomectomy at Hankou Hospital of Wuhan from June 2020 to September 2023.

Background: The storage process of Nongxiangxing daqu is closely related to the quality of the daqu. The role of storage in daqu manufacture remains unclear, and most actual production relies on previous production experience.

Results: With the extension of daqu storage over a period of time, saccharifying activity, liquefying activity, fermenting activity, and esterifying activity reached a peak when stored for 3 to 4 months.

A growing body of evidence suggests the involvement of long noncoding ribose nucleic acids (lncRNAs) in acute kidney injury (AKI). This study focused on the mechanistic role of lncRNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 12 (SNHG12) in ischemia/reperfusion (I/R)-mediated AKI. A model of hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) was created using human kidney cells (HK-2).
