Flexible nasendoscopy revealed bruising of the right hemilarynx, hypopharynx and parapharyngeal mucosal consistent with a spontaneous cervical haematoma. After conservative management, the haematoma self-resolved and the source of the haematoma was thought to be a parathyroid adenoma.
