Comparative analysis of treatment modalities for pediatric spinal cord glioblastoma: insights from a meta-analysis.

Introduction: Glioblastomas (GBM) are aggressive tumors that make up about 7% of central nervous system tumors in children. Spinal GBMs (sGBMs) are extremely rare, accounting for less than 1% of pediatric spinal tumors. sGBMs are difficult to treat due to their infiltrative nature and cause significant morbidity.

Multi-Mode Face-to-Face and Telephone Approach to Data Collection in Health Surveys: A Scoping Review.

: The present study aims to identify information from health research studies that have used a mixed-methods data collection approach, considering the combination of face-to-face and telephone interviews (referred to as the MMFT approach), specifically focusing on identifying themes, objectives, designs, populations involved, and implementation processes. : A scoping review was developed, with systematic searches performed in March 2024 across five databases, namely, PubMed; SciELO; Scopus; Web of Science; as well as Google Scholar and reference lists. The inclusion criteria were defined under the following categories: "Participants" (observational epidemiological studies, with no restrictions as to where they were carried out, sampling techniques, or sample profiles); "Concept" (use of MMFT in data collection), and "Context" (studies carried out in the health area, with no restrictions on the theme/subject).

Chronic Intestinal Failure and Short Bowel Syndrome in Adults: The State of the Art.

Background: Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a devastating malabsorptive condition and the most common cause of chronic intestinal failure (CIF). During the intestinal rehabilitation process, patients may need parenteral support for months or years, parenteral nutrition (PN), or hydration/electrolyte supplementation, as a bridge for the desired enteral autonomy.

Summary: Several classification criteria have been highlighted to reflect different perspectives in CIF.

Instruments for evaluating parental support for the practice of physical activity in children and adolescents: A scoping review.

Objective: The objective of this study was to map the instruments used to assess parental support for physical activity and their constructs and psychometric properties.

Data Source: A scoping review was conducted, with searches in seven electronic databases and reference lists, covering articles available until April 2022. Original and cross-sectional studies were sought that used questionnaires, inventories or questions to assess parental support for the practice of physical activity and sports by children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years and that assessed the barriers reported by parents or guardians for not offering support.
