causes devastating vascular wilt diseases in numerous crop species, resulting in substantial yield losses. The - (FOC) model system enables the identification of meaningful genotype-phenotype correlations and was applied in this study to evaluate the effects of overexpressing an NLR gene () from against pathogen infection. overexpression (OE) lines exhibited enhanced resistance to FOC without any discernible phenotype penalties.

Copper (Cu) is an essential element for plants, participating in photosynthesis, oxidative metabolism and cell wall synthesis. However, excessive Cu may become toxic, as Cu participates in Fenton chemistry and cause oxidative stress. Grapevine (Vitis sp.

Plants evolved, over millions of years, complex defense systems against pathogens. Once infected, the interaction between pathogen effector molecules and host receptors triggers plant immune responses, which include apoptosis, systemic immune response, among others. An important protein family responsible for pathogen effector recognition is the nucleotide binding site-leucine repeat rich (NBS-LRR) proteins.

The usage of microorganisms as biocontrol agents and biofertilizers has been recommended and recognized as an ecologically correct alternative to maintaining the productivity and safety of crops. Thus, the objectives of this work were to characterize twelve strains belonging to Invertebrate Bacteria Collection of Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology by molecular, morphological, and biochemical methods and to evaluate the pathogenicity of these strains against pests and diseases of agricultural interest. The morphological characteristic of the strains was performed according to the principles of Bergy's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology.
