[Fundamentals of fixation of cytological preparations (author's transl)].

Short description of the technique of fixing material--obtained by percutaneous fine needle biopsy--for cytology. A well experienced cytopathologist is mandatory for interpretation of the specimen.

[A method for percutaneous thin-needle biopsy of the pancreas aimed by ultrasound (author's transl)].

Percutaneous biopsy of the pancreas with a fine needle aimed by ultrasound was carried out on 26 patients with sonographically proven carcinoma of the pancreas. The accuracy of this method was correlated with other radiological techniques. Needle biopsy of the pancreas proved an informative and economical procedure, since the sonographic demonstration of a pancreatic mass otherwise requires additional radiological and endoscopic investigations.

Malignant non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in childhood. Retrospective analysis of 34 cases.

Of 47 children with an initial diagnosis of lymphosarcoma, reticulosarcoma or Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), 13 had to be excluded at the histologic reevaluation: in 10 an undifferentiated sarcoma, in 2 Hodgkin lymphoma was found; in one patient no definite classification of the tumor was possible. Of the remaining 34 patients there were 26 boys and 8 girls. One patient had a nodular, 33 a diffuse NHL.
