Over the last two decades, the rise of the dynamicist view in the philosophy of spacetime theories has motivated a discussion about the way in which chronogeometric structure and dynamics are connected. Geometricists defend that chronogeometry determines and explains dynamics, whereas dynamicists state that it is the other way around. Both parties assume that the arrow of explanation at issue involves a claim of fundamentality and priority of one of the elements over the other.

Hemophilia A (HA) patients under emicizumab prophylaxis may require the concomitant use of procoagulant factors for breakthrough bleedings or immune tolerance induction (ITI). The aim of this study is to evaluate the ex vivo procoagulant effect of plasma-derived FVIII concentrates containing von Willebrand factor (pdFVIII/VWF) in samples from patients with severe HA without inhibitors on emicizumab prophylaxis. Samples from healthy controls (HC) and HA patients were drawn in sodium citrate plus corn trypsin inhibitor tubes and spiked with increasing concentrations of pdFVIII/VWF concentrates (10-400 IU/dL) (Fanhdi/Alphanate, Grifols), activated prothrombin complex concentrate (aPCC, 0.

Introduction: Malnutrition is a leading cause of death for persons living with X-linked dystonia-parkinsonism (XDP), a degenerative disease endemic to the Philippines. Difficulty swallowing has been linked to malnutrition in other populations; however, knowledge of this relationship is limited in XDP. As such, the purpose of this study was to determine the association between dysphagia and malnutrition in this population.

X-linked dystonia parkinsonism (XDP) is a neurogenetic combined movement disorder involving both parkinsonism and dystonia. Complex, overlapping phenotypes result in difficulties in clinical rating scale assessment. We performed wearable sensor-based analyses in XDP participants to quantitatively characterize disease phenomenology as a potential clinical trial endpoint.

Introduction: X-linked dystonia-parkinsonism (XDP) is a neurodegenerative disorder that may result in severe speech impairment. The literature suggests that there are differences in the speech of individuals with XDP and healthy controls. This study aims to examine the motor speech characteristics of the mixed dystonia-parkinsonism phase of XDP.
