Introduction: Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists (RAs) have changed the landscape of type 2 diabetes (T2D) management due to their cardio-renal benefits, their glucose-lowering efficacy and weight loss (WL) maintenance. However, the response to GLP-1 RA monotherapy is heterogeneous. Additionally, the majority of GLP-1 RAs are injectable treatments.

The Impact of New and Renewed Restrictive State Abortion Laws on Pregnancy-Capable People with Diabetes.

Purpose Of Review: When the Supreme Court handed down its decision in Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Organization in June 2022, the constitutional right to abortion was no longer protected by Roe v Wade. Fifteen states now have total or near-total bans on abortion care or no clinics providing abortion services. We review how these restrictions affect the medical care of people with pregestational diabetes.

The Diabetes Transition of Hospital Care (DiaTOHC) Pilot Study: A Randomized Controlled Trial of an Intervention Designed to Reduce Readmission Risk of Adults with Diabetes.

Hospital readmission within 30 days of discharge (30-day readmission) is a high-priority quality measure and cost target. The purpose of this study was to explore the feasibility and efficacy of the Diabetes Transition of Hospital Care (DiaTOHC) Program on readmission risk in high-risk adults with diabetes. This was a non-blinded pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) that compared usual care (UC) to DiaTOHC at a safety-net hospital.

Focal dynamic thermal imaging for label-free high-resolution characterization of materials and tissue heterogeneity.

Evolution from static to dynamic label-free thermal imaging has improved bulk tissue characterization, but fails to capture subtle thermal properties in heterogeneous systems. Here, we report a label-free, high speed, and high-resolution platform technology, focal dynamic thermal imaging (FDTI), for delineating material patterns and tissue heterogeneity. Stimulation of focal regions of thermally responsive systems with a narrow beam, low power, and low cost 405 nm laser perturbs the thermal equilibrium.
