Our study explores the potential relationship between infant feeding practices and settlement complexity in the Roman Empire through high-resolution Bayesian-modeled stable isotope measurements from incremental dentine. We compiled isotopic data from permanent first molars of individuals from various Roman sites: five from Bainesse (UK), 30 from Thessaloniki (Greece), along with new carbon and nitrogen isotope analyses from four individuals from Pompeii and six from Ostia Via del Mare (AVM). Our results reveal significant inter-site variability in breastfeeding durations, ranging from 1.

Introduction: Despite the generally mild course of COVID-19 in children, immunocompromised patients may experience complications or severe infection. This study reports the clinical outcomes of pediatric patients treated with nirmatrelvir and ritonavir (N/R) for SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Methods: We retrospectively reported the data of children with any immunodeficiency with COVID-19 who received N/R treatment between March 2022 and June 2023 at the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital.

Article Synopsis
  • Selective binding and optical sensing of Zn(II) and Cd(II) in water were studied using different receptors (L1, HL2, L3, HL4, HL5) to see how complex stability affects metal signaling.
  • The receptors all have a cyclic tetra-amine structure combined with either one or two quinoline or 8-hydroxyquinoline units, influencing their properties and interactions.
  • The study showed that Zn(II) forms more stable complexes with some receptors, while Cd(II) complexes benefit from better fitting in specific cavities, leading to unique optical behaviors for each metal in their respective complexes.

Background: Monitoring biologic drug therapy during pregnancy in women with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) is crucial to ensure treatments align with evidence-based practices.

Research Design And Methods: A retrospective cohort study based on healthcare claims data from eight Italian regions was conducted, analyzing deliveries between 2009 and 2021. The study included women receiving biologic drugs within nine months before their last menstruation.
