Background And Aims: The clinical evolution of acute ischemic stroke patients with isolated proximal posterior cerebral artery (PCA) occlusion treated with medical management alone has been poorly described. We aimed to determine the clinical and radiological factors associated with poor functional outcome in this population.

Methods: We conducted a multicenter international retrospective study of consecutive stroke patients with isolated occlusion of the first (P1) or second (P2) segment of PCA admitted within 6hrs from symptoms onset in 26 stroke centers in France, Switzerland and the USA, treated with best medical management alone.

Male adult mice with a selective knockout of BDNF in endothelial cells () and their wild-type littermates (WT) were subjected to tests for detection of anxiety- and depression-like behaviors and impaired recognition memory. An increasing body of evidence confirms the effectiveness of physical exercise (PE) in promoting brain health by preventing age-related cognitive decline and reducing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases. The benefits of PE are attributed to neuroplasticity processes which have been reported to enhance cerebral health. However, moderate to high-intensity PE is necessary to induce these responses and these intensities cannot always be achieved especially by people with physical limitations.

There is ample evidence for magnetic reconnection in the solar system, but it is a nontrivial task to visualize, to determine the proper approaches and frames to study, and in turn to elucidate the physical processes at work in reconnection regions from in-situ measurements of plasma particles and electromagnetic fields. Here an overview is given of a variety of single- and multi-spacecraft data analysis techniques that are key to revealing the context of in-situ observations of magnetic reconnection in space and for detecting and analyzing the diffusion regions where ions and/or electrons are demagnetized. We focus on recent advances in the era of the Magnetospheric Multiscale mission, which has made electron-scale, multi-point measurements of magnetic reconnection in and around Earth's magnetosphere.

Case Summary: A 10-year-old neutered female domestic shorthair cat was presented to our hospital with a 2-day history of anorexia, vomiting and lethargy. The biochemistry panel revealed increased hepatic enzyme activity and serum amyloid A concentration. Haematological values were within reference intervals.
