Corrosion is a major threat in the aeronautic industry, both in terms of safety and cost. Efficient, versatile, and cost affordable solutions for corrosion monitoring are thus needed. Ultrasonic Lamb Waves (LW) appear to be very efficient for corrosion monitoring and can be made cost effective and versatile if emitted and received by a sparse array of piezoelectric elements (PZT).

Background: Attrition continues to be a major hurdle for addiction treatment. Through the prism of the attachment theory, this phenomenon can be understood as a manifestation of the patient's insecure attachment style, needing a highly-responsive care delivery. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has severely disrupted supply chains for many types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), particularly surgical N95 filtering facepiece respirators (FFRs; "masks"). As a consequence, an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA has allowed use of industrial N95 respirators and importation of N95-type masks manufactured to international standards; these include KN95 masks from China and FFP2 masks from the European Union.

Methods: We conducted a survey of masks in the inventory of major academic medical centers in Boston, MA to determine provenance and manufacturer or supplier.

The late reverberation characteristics of a sound field are often assumed to be perceptually isotropic, meaning that the decay of energy is perceived as equivalent in every direction. In this paper, we employ Ambisonics reproduction methods to reassess how a decaying sound field is analyzed and characterized and our capacity to hear directional characteristics within late reverberation. We propose the use of objective measures to assess the anisotropy characteristics of a decaying sound field.

We describe herein the first access to 12-membered cyclic[7,0],-diarylheptanoids. The key features of the synthesis include both a Suzuki-Miyaura coupling and a ring closing metathesis. Actinidione, a promising natural product, along with a bioactive tetracyclic derivative were obtained in 14 steps for the first time from cheap commercially available substrates with an overall yield of 18-21%.
