The sensitivity of Lamb wave modes to a particular defect or instance of damage is dependent on various factors (e.g., the local strain energy density due to that wave mode).

This work presents a computationally-efficient, probabilistic approach to model-based damage diagnosis. Given measurement data, probability distributions of unknown damage parameters are estimated using Bayesian inference and Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) sampling. Substantial computational speedup is obtained by replacing a three-dimensional finite element (FE) model with an efficient surrogate model.

This low temperature attribute of the process enables integration of temperature sensitive components, such as fiber optic strain sensors, directly into metal structures. This may be an enabling technology for Digital Twin applications, i.

We show that its scalar sector has exotic properties that can be tested at the LHC.

Currently the test is known to have high sensitivity and questionable specificity since it is frequently positive in a considerable number of non-autoimmune subjects. Awareness that a substantial portion of the population has a positive ANA-HEp-2 test demands that characteristics permitting to distinguish positive tests in autoimmune patients from positive tests in non-autoimmune subjects be identified.
