Aims: We focused on investigating the influence of Escherichia coli (E. coli) on the intestinal barrier.

Material And Methods: We studied changes in the distribution and secretory activities of goblet cells and enteroendocrine cells (EECs), as well as changes in the population of mast cells (MCs) in the jejunal and colonic mucosa of germ-free (GF) piglets as a healthy control group and GF piglets whose intestines were colonised with E.

Aim: Research on deception detection has usually been executed in experimental settings in the laboratory. In contrast, the present research investigates deception detection by actual victims and near victims of fraud, as reported in their own words.

Materials And Methods: Our study is based on a nationally representative survey of 11 types of (mostly) online fraud victimization ( = 2,864).

In the market for next-generation energy storage, lithium-sulfur (Li-S) technology is one of the most promising candidates due to its high theoretical specific energy and cost-efficient ubiquitous active materials. In this study, this cell system was combined with a cost-efficient sustainable solvent-free electrode dry-coating process (DRYtraec®). So far, this process has been only feasible with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-based binders.

Ultimate resolution in scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) with state-of-the-art aberration correctors requires careful tuning of the experimental parameters. The optimum aperture semi-angle depends on the chosen high tension, the chromatic aberration and the energy width of the source as well as on potentially limiting intrinsic residual aberrations. In this paper we derive simple expressions and criteria for choosing the aperture semi-angle and for counterbalancing the intrinsic sixth-order three-lobe aberration of two-hexapole aberration correctors by means of the fourth-order three-lobe aberration.
