Background: Imaging Surgical Patients (ISP) and Essential Imaging for Clinicians (EIC) are online medical imaging units of study for non-radiologist medical practitioners within the Master of Surgery and Master of Medicine programs at the University of Sydney. This paper presents the findings of evaluations of the coursework associated with these units.
Methods: ISP and EIC were reviewed after successful delivery of 8 and 4 semesters, respectively.
A growing body of literature suggests that power spectral density (PSD) slope, measured using electroencephalography (EEG), might reflect synaptic activity and be a useful marker of early brain development. The objective of this article is to identify differences between preterm and full-term infants in PSD slope in active and quiet sleep. This is a secondary analysis of two studies, including premature (N = 33) (30 0/7 and 36 0/7 weeks' gestation) and full-term infants (N = 22).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFSocial interactions are essential for infant brain development, yet we know little about how infant functional connectivity differs between social and nonsocial contexts, or how sensitivity to differences between contexts might be related to early distal and proximal environmental factors. We compared 12-month-old infants' intrahemispheric electroencephalographic (EEG) coherence between a social and a nonsocial condition, then examined whether differences between conditions varied as a function of family economic strain and two maternal behaviors at 6 months, positive affect and infant-directed speech. We found lower EEG coherence from the frontal region to the central, parietal, temporal, and occipital regions during the social condition, but only for infants from higher-income families and infants whose mothers used higher proportions of infant-directed speech.

Methods: RCT-2 (NCT02710474) was conducted at two NICUs. Subjects were randomly assigned to receive SC or FNI during their NICU stay.
The current study investigated the impact of an 8-module internet-based cognitive behaviour therapy for perfectionism (ICBT-P) across a variety of perfectionism subscales. Undergraduate students who identified as having a problem with perfectionism were randomized to receive the intervention (n = 41), and were free to choose the number of treatment modules they completed over a 4-week period, while the control group (N = 48) received access to treatment 8 weeks post-randomisation. Secondary measures included depression, anxiety, stress, body image and self-compassion.
