Objective: To evaluate in a real-world setting an intravitreal clindamycin treatment protocol for ocular toxoplasmosis.

Methods: This was a single-center, retrospective review with a 6-month follow-up. Our protocol proposed an IVT of clindamycin as first-line treatment, and management was chosen according to the patient's status (past medical history of ocular toxoplasmosis or not).

Purpose: Eye rubbing is considered to play a significant role in the progression of keratoconus and of corneal ectasia following refractive surgery. To our knowledge, no tool performs an objective quantitative evaluation of eye rubbing using a device that is familiar to typical patients. We introduce here an innovative solution for objectively quantifying and preventing eye rubbing.

Article Synopsis
  • Optic Atrophy (OA) can lead to microcystic macular edema (MME) in the retinal inner nuclear layer, with a study investigating its prevalence in non-glaucomatous OA patients over five years.
  • Out of 643 eyes examined, 15% developed MME, with varying prevalence depending on the underlying cause of OA, except for toxic/nutritional factors.
  • MME was linked to thinning of the ganglion cell and nerve fiber layers, reduced visual acuity, and INL thickening, but its presence does not help in diagnosing OA conditions.

Dupilumab has demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of atopic dermatitis. However, a subset of patients experiences ocular adverse events (OAEs), including conjunctivitis and dry eye syndrome, the pathological mechanisms of which are still unknown. In a bicentric study, we used DNA microarray analysis to compare the transcriptome of conjunctival cells of patients with atopic dermatitis collected by impression cytology before (M0) and 4 months after (M4) initiating dupilumab treatment.
