This Letter presents a search for highly ionizing magnetic monopoles in 262 μb^{-1} of ultraperipheral Pb+Pb collision data at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.36 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. A new methodology that exploits the properties of clusters of hits reconstructed in the innermost silicon detector layers is introduced to study highly ionizing particles in heavy-ion data.

Solute segregation to GBs is strongly coupled to the GB character, which governs the stability and macroscopic properties of nanostructured materials. Here, a 3D transmission electron microscopy and atom probe tomography (APT) correlation framework are developed to retrieve the GB character and composition at the highest spatial resolution and chemical sensitivity by correlating 4D scanning precession electron diffraction tomography (4D-SPEDT) and APT on the same sample.

Dislocation typically occurs in the setting of wide mouth opening and increased ligament flexibility, but trauma or anatomical variations of the condyle and articular eminence may contribute as well. In cases of muscle spasm following dislocation, local anesthetic, or sedation can be used to relieve muscle tension and reduce pain, thus facilitating successful TMJ reduction.

However, the influence of microbes on coral thermotolerance remains understudied. Here, we examined the prokaryotic microbial communities associated with colonies of Acropora cf.
