Cryptogamic communities on flatroofs in the city of Debrecen (East Hungary).

Cryptogams of ten urban flatroofs, contrasting in their age and size, were studied between 2016 and 2018. Siliceous (bituminous felt, gravel, brick) and calcareous (concrete) substrata occurred at each site. Microclimate (T, RH) at two sites of contrasting shading was monitored from September 2016 to January 2017.

A CETP polymorphism improves the diagnostic power of clinical examination in patients with cardiovascular disease.

Aims: Atherosclerosis is common and myocardial infarction, stroke and peripheral arterial occlusive disease are its devastating complications. Accurate risk prediction is urgently needed. We applied molecular tests to improve early clinical identification of patients threatened by a future course of complicated active atherosclerosis.

Confounding effects of specific KRAS gene alterations on colorectal cancer (CRC) prognosis stratified by microsatellite instability (MSI) and BRAF(V600E) have not yet been investigated. The aim of our study was to evaluate the combined effects of MSI, BRAF(V600E) and specific KRAS mutation (Gly → Asp; G12D, Gly → Asp, G13D; Gly → Val; G12V) on prognosis in 404 sporadic and 94 hereditary CRC patients. MSI status was determined according to the Bethesda guidelines.

Increased phosphatidylinositol synthesis in rat embryo fibroblasts after growth stimulation and its inhibition by delta-hexachlorocyclohexane.

When resting rat embryo fibroblasts are stimulated to grow, a substantial increase in phosphatidylinositol synthesis can be observed. This increase cannot be explained by increased glucose uptake or glycolysis. delta-Hexachlorocyclohexane having the same configuration as myo-inositol, inhibits phosphatidyl inositol synthesis as well as DNA synthesis and mitosis, but has no effect on phosphatidyl choline synthesis.
