Aims: To assess and compare radiographically the alveolar bone after tooth extractions in individuals with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis (CKFh), those submitted to kidney transplantation (KT), and those without kidney disease (CG) by using fractal analysis (FA) and pixel intensity (PI).
Methods And Results: Periapical radiographs of 48 CKFh individuals (87 extracted teeth), 12 KT individuals (26 extracted teeth and 29 control individuals [76 extracted teeth] were analyzed at 7 and 60 days after tooth extraction. Fractal dimension (FD) and PI were assessed to evaluate the alveolar trabecular bone structural complexity and mineral content.
Unlabelled: The production of coconut tree seedlings is an important step in the production process, as it substantially affects the productive performance of the adult plant, and the way of obtaining seedlings directly reflects the added costs. To minimize costs, the introduction of biostimulants can be considered a viable and sustainable technology. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of applying in promoting growth and reducing the costs of producing Brazilgreen dwarf coconut seedlings.

Yet, the molecular mechanisms that drive their harmful and benign effector functions remain poorly understood. Here, we demonstrate that extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by repair-associated macrophages (RAMs) enhance remyelination ex vivo and in vivo by promoting the differentiation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs).

The objective of this study is to develop a low-cost biosorbent using residual seeds of the fruit for the removal of cationic dyes. Physicochemical parameters such as pH, adsorbent mass, contact time, and temperature were evaluated for their effects on dye removal. The biosorbent is composed of lignin and cellulose, exhibiting a highly heterogeneous surface with randomly distributed cavities and bulges.

This study compared the outcomes of children with PCG who underwent ab externo trabeculotomy (TROC) at age ≤ 6 months (early TROC) and of those who underwent TROC at age > 6 months (delayed TROC).
Methods: Intraocular pressure, horizontal corneal diameter (HCD), central corneal thickness (CCT) and axial length (AL) were compared before TROC and at 1-, 3-, 6- and 12-month follow-up visits between the groups of children who underwent TROC until or after 6 months of age.
