Factor structure and psychometric properties of the French versions of the Big Five Inventory-2 Short (BFI-2-S) and Extra-Short (BFI-2-XS) Forms.

Objectives: In many circumstances, researchers and clinicians need short personality questionnaires that can be administered quickly, either because a patient's attentional abilities preclude the use of longer, more comprehensive questionnaires, or because the assessment of personality, while desirable, is not the primary focus of their approach. The purpose of this study was to validate two short forms of one of the personality questionnaires most widely used in international research, the Big Five Inventory (BFI-2), which uses 60 items to measure the Big Five personality factors: Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Negative Emotionality/Neuroticism, and Open-mindedness/Openness to Experience, plus 15 facets (three for each major factor). The 30-item short form (BFI-2-S) is intended to assess the five main factors and the 15 facets and the "extra-short" form (BFI-2-XS) in 15 items only allows the five big factors to be assessed.

Brazilian Green Propolis Extract-Loaded Poly(Ε-Caprolactone) Nanoparticles Coated with Hyaluronic Acid: Antifungal Activity in a Murine Model of Vulvovaginal Candidiasis.

Brazilian green propolis extract-loaded poly(ε-caprolactone) nanoparticles coated with hyaluronic acid (PE-NPsHA) were developed as a therapeutic strategy to treat vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) and combat the growing issue of fungal resistance. The chemical composition of PE was analyzed using UHPLC-MS/MS, revealing the presence of various bioactive compounds, such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, coumarins, and quinones. These compounds were encapsulated into the polymeric matrix of NPs, as indicated by FTIR and DSC.

Effects of prophylactic non-invasive ventilation on weaning: A systematic review with meta-analysis.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of prophylactic non-invasive ventilation (NIV) on reintubation, postextubation respiratory failure, length of stay (LOS), and mortality in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Method: A systematic review of the databases followed by meta-analysis was conducted. We included randomised or quasi-randomised clinical trials conducted in adults, with a mechanical ventilation time >48 h, who had good performance in the spontaneous breathing test and compared the use of prophylactic NIV with oxygen supplementation.

One of the major limitations for clinical applications of infrared spectroscopic imaging modalities is the acquisition time required to obtain reasonable images of tissues with high spatial resolution and good signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The time to acquire a reasonable signal to noise spectroscopic scan of a standard microscope slide region of tissue can take many hours. As a trade-off, systems can allow for discrete wavenumber acquisitions, sacrificing potentially vital chemical bands in order to reach specific acquisition targets.

Physical exercise alone or combined with omega-3 modulates apical periodontitis induced in rats.

Apical periodontitis (AP) results from bacterial contamination of the pulp tissue, with its progression highly influenced by the host's immune response. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of moderate physical exercise, alone or combined with omega-3 supplementation, on AP induced in rats. The analysis focused on the immuno-inflammatory profile, bacterial presence in the root canal and apical region, bone loss, and collagen fiber production.
