Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is one of the leading causes of death in patients with cancer. Currently, there is a need to develop an easily applicable risk model that can identify patients who will benefit from receiving primary thromboprophylaxis to reduce the incidence of VTE.

Patients And Methods: This was a non-interventional, multicenter, observational, prospective study carried out in 62 Oncology and Hematology services in Spain and Portugal between January 2018 and December 2019.

Optimal level of human intracranial theta activity for behavioral switching in the subthalamo-medio-prefrontal circuit.

The ability to switch between rules associating stimuli and responses depend on a circuit including the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (dmPFC) and the subthalamic nucleus (STN). However, the precise neural implementations of switching remain unclear. To address this issue, we recorded local field potentials from the STN and from the dmPFC of neuropsychiatric patients during behavioral switching.

Right-sided vagus nerve stimulation for drug-resistant epilepsy: A systematic review of the literature and perspectives.

Background: Right-sided vagus nerve stimulation (RS-VNS) is indicated when the procedure was deemed not technically feasible or too risky on the indicated left side.

Objective: The present study aims to systematically review the literature on RS-VNS, assessing its effectiveness and safety.

Methods: A systematic review following PRISMA guidelines was conducted: Pubmed/MEDLINE, The Cochrane Library, Scopus, Embase and Web of science databases were searched from inception to August 13th,2023.

Vagus nerve stimulation allows to cease maintenance electroconvulsive therapy in treatment-resistant depression: a retrospective monocentric case series.

Context: The use of vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) to reduce or stop electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) in treatment-resistant depression seems promising. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of VNS on the reduction of ECT sessions and mood stabilization.

Methods: We conducted a monocentric retrospective case series of patients who suffered from treatment-resistant depression, treated with ECT and referred to our center for VNS.
