Computerised navigation of unicondylar knee prostheses: from primary implantation to revision to total knee arthroplasty.

Aim: Computerized navigation of unicondylar knee arthroplasties (UKA) is not a widespread technique. The lifespan of a UKA depends on the quality of its implantation. We know that overcorrection leads to a rapid extension of the osteoarthritis to the opposite side of the knee and undercorrection to a rapid loosening or wear of the prosthesis.

Reconstruction of the Lateral Ligaments of the Ankle Using a Periosteal Flap in Children and Teenagers: A Midterm Follow-up Survey.

Background: The rate of chronic lateral ankle instability has increased in children and teenagers. However, studies concerning its management within this population are rare. Current repair techniques involve use of the peroneus brevis tendon.

[Nodular fasciitis: case report and review of the literature].

Among soft tissue tumors, nodular fasciitis is a relatively common tumor process, which occurs in the 30 first years of life. Nodular fasciitis is a benign tumor with a rapid proliferation of myofibroblastic cells, which develops at the expense of a muscular fascia in the subcutaneous tissue. Usual localizations are the trunk and upper limbs.

Percutaneous iliosacral screw fixation in unstable pelvic ring lesions: the interest of O-ARM CT-guided navigation.

Introduction: The reference surgical treatment for unstable posterior pelvic fracture is percutaneous iliosacral screw fixation, isolated or in association with other techniques. As there is a risk of passage outside the bone when performing screw fixation under fluoroscopy, new image-guidance techniques have been developed: fluoronavigation, peroperative 3D navigation, CT-linked navigation, etc. Since September 2011, our department has performed iliosacral screw fixation under CT control linked to navigation so as to optimize screw positioning.

Impact of a surgical site infection (SSI) surveillance program in orthopedics and traumatology.

Unlabelled: Surveillance of surgical site infections (SSI) is a priority. One of the fundamental principles for the surveillance of SSI is based on receiving effective field feedback (retro-information). The aim of this study was to report the results of a program of SSI surveillance and validate the hypothesis that there is a correlation between creating a SSI surveillance program and a reduction in SSI.
