Effectiveness of a social cognition remediation intervention for patients with schizophrenia: a randomized-controlled study.

This randomized-controlled study evaluates the effectiveness of a newly developed social cognition rehabilitation intervention, the modified Social Cognition Individualized Activity Lab (mSoCIAL), in improving social cognition and clinical and functional outcomes of persons with schizophrenia recruited in two Italian sites: University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" in Naples and ASST Fatebenefratelli-Sacco in Milan. mSoCIAL consists of a social cognitive training module focusing on different domains of social cognition and of a narrative enhancement module. We assessed changes in social cognition, clinical characteristics and functional variables in patients with schizophrenia who participated in 10 weekly sessions of mSoCIAL or received treatment as usual (TAU).

CALiSol-23: Experimental electrolyte conductivity data for various Li-salts and solvent combinations.

Ion transport in non-aqueous electrolytes is crucial for high performance lithium-ion battery (LIB) development. The design of superior electrolytes requires extensive experimentation across the compositional space. To support data driven accelerated electrolyte discovery efforts, we curated and analyzed a large dataset covering a wide range of experimentally recorded ionic conductivities for various combinations of lithium salts, solvents, concentrations, and temperatures.

The CPS Workers' Child Removal Decision in Cases of Domestic and Witnessed Violence.

This study aimed to explore maternal and paternal risks and protective factors that may influence the Child Protection Service (CPS) workers' child removal decision in case of domestic and witnessed violence. In all, 218 case reports of Italian CPSs were retrospectively analyzed through the Protocol of Risk and Protective Factors. The sample was then split up into two groups on the basis of the CPS professionals' placement decision after the investigation (child removal decision versus parents support and monitoring intervention).

New Challenges for Biobanks: Accreditation to the New ISO 20387:2018 Standard Specific for Biobanks.

Background: The emergence of "multi-omics" and "multi-parametric" types of analysis based on a high number of biospecimens enforces the use of a great number of high-quality (BMaD). To meet the demands of biomedical research, several Biological Resource Centers (BRCs) or Biobanks world-wide have implemented a specific Quality Management System (QMS) certified ISO 9001:2015 or accredited by CAP ISO 20387:2018. For the first time, ISO, with the support of several Biobanking experts, issued the ISO 20387:2018 which is the first ISO norm specific for Biobanks.
