Introduction: The Flow Re-direction Endoluminal Device (FRED) is a novel flow diverter with a unique double stent design, with an inner stent composed of 48 nitinol wires, and an outer stent with 16 nitinol wires. It is designed for endovascular cerebral aneurysm treatment, although, limited data exist regarding in-stent stenosis (ISS) rates associated with FRED devices.

Methods: A registry encompassing two North American comprehensive stroke centers was the base of this study.

Purpose: To elucidate the mechanical properties of the bovine lens cortical membrane (CM), the nuclear membrane (NM) containing cholesterol bilayer domains (CBDs), and whole bovine lenses.

Methods: The total lipids (lipids plus cholesterol) from the cortex and nucleus of a single bovine lens were isolated using the monophasic methanol extraction method. Supported CMs and NMs were prepared from total lipids extracted from the cortex and nucleus, respectively, using a rapid solvent exchange method and probe-tip sonication, followed by the fusion of unilamellar vesicles on a flat, freshly cleaved mica surface.

Background: Availability of new vaccines for adults has increased interest in understanding Canada's respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) burden in older adults and adults considered at high risk of severe infection.

Objective: To characterize the burden of RSV disease in Canada by joint analysis of the published literature and hospitalization data from a healthcare administrative database.

Methods: Electronic databases of published literature were searched to identify studies and systematic reviews reporting data on outpatient visits, hospitalizations, intensive care unit (ICU) admissions and deaths associated with RSV infection in adults.

Background And Importance: Fusiform middle cerebral artery (MCA) bifurcation aneurysms can be challenging to treat with standard endovascular or microsurgical techniques. The in situ side-to-side bypass technique represents an elegant revascularization option for these aneurysms when trapping becomes necessary.

Clinical Presentation: A man in his 50s presented for evaluation of an incidentally found fusiform, 10 mm, right MCA bifurcation aneurysm with involvement of both the inferior and superior M2 trunks.
