Statistical methods to adjust for the effects on intervention compliance in randomized clinical trials where precision treatment rules are being developed.

Background: Heterogeneity of treatment effects (HTEs) can occur because of either differential treatment compliance or differential treatment effectiveness. This distinction is important, as it has action implications, but it is unclear how to distinguish these two possibilities statistically in precision treatment analysis given that compliance is not observed until after randomization. We review available statistical methods and illustrate a recommended method in secondary analysis in a trial focused on HTE.

How to improve outcomes of psychological treatment of depression: Lessons from "next-level" meta-analytic research.

Depression is a major public health challenge. Psychotherapy is one of the most important first-line treatments with good outcomes, although there is also room for improvement. In this article, I describe how outcomes can be further improved, based on innovative meta-analytic research.

One of the most widely used instruments is the Adjustment Disorder New Module (ADNM), which has already been validated in different countries. The aim of this study was to validate the Spanish version of the ADNM-20 with a non-clinical sample, including a comparison with a high-risk sample.

Background: "What matters most" (WMM) is a theoretical framework based on medical anthropology and draws on cultural concepts of values and morals. It has been employed to identify cross-cultural aspects of mental health stigma. This approach assists practitioners, advocates, and researchers in assessing stigma-related factors that are relevant to the experiences of individuals in diverse cultural contexts.

Does enhanced meaning after meaning-centered group psychotherapy mediate a reduction in depressive symptoms in cancer survivors? A mediation analysis in the context of a randomized controlled trial.

Purpose: After meaning-centered group psychotherapy for cancer survivors (MCGP-CS), depressive symptoms tend to decrease. An enhanced sense of meaning may play a mediating role in this decrease. The aim of this study was to assess whether personal meaning mediates the relationship between MCGP-CS and depressive symptoms.
