In massive catastrophic events, occupational health practitioners are more and more frequently involved in the management of such situations. We aim to describe the multiple aspects of the role that occupational health practitioners might play, by focusing on the recent example of the Paris terrorist attack of November 2015. During and after the Paris attack, occupational practitioners, in collaboration with emergency and security professionals, were involved in psychological care, assembling information, follow-up, return-to-work, and improving in-company safety plans.

We investigated a phase III randomized trial to compare efficacy and tolerance of CDDP + 5-FU to CDDP + VP16, both given intravenously in patients with unresectable advanced head and neck cancer. Acute adult epiglottitis is a potentially life threatening infectious and respiratory emergency as it may result in airway obstruction. Endotracheal intubation, if needed, is a highly risky option in this situation and responsible for important morbidity and mortality rate. The option of a pharmaceutical anti-oedematous treatment, in order to avoid the risks involved in the endotracheal route has rarely been described.
