Cardiomyopathy and phaeochromocytoma.

A case is presented of phaeochromocytoma with catecholamine-induced cardiomyopathy. The difficulties in the management when left ventricular failure occurred are reported and the importance of monitoring pulmonary artery pressure during the anaesthetic procedure is stressed.

A haemodynamic study of patients anaesthetized with enflurane and halothane.

The cardiovascular effects of equipotent concentrations of enflurane and halothane were studied and compared in two groups of patients. The agents were shown to have similar effects.
