Purpose: To analyze the correlation between pharyngeal residue and penetration/aspiration in post-stroke individuals.
Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective, clinical study with 157 post-stroke individuals, 71 females and 86 males, aged 26 to 92 years (mean age: 67.2 years), all diagnosed by neurological assessment and imaging exams (computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging), who underwent fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) in a rehabilitation center.
Objectives: Through the lens of self-determination theory, this quantitative study investigates how patient-provider collaboration through perceived shared decision-making (SDM) and autonomy support impact type 2 diabetes (T2D) outcomes.
Methods: We sampled 474 individuals over 18 years old who self-identified as having T2D. Completed and valid responses were received from 378 participants from two separate groups in an online survey.

The components and the salivary flow have a direct influence on the composition of the oral microbiota of children and young people with oropharyngeal dysphagia, and studies have already demonstrated the excessive accumulation of supragingival dental calculus in individuals with enteral nutrition. This study aimed to compare the oral hygiene, biochemical, and microbiological aspects of the oral cavity of children and young people with neurological impairment and oropharyngeal dysphagia. Forty children and young people with neurological impairment and oropharyngeal dysphagia were enrolled and divided into two groups: group I, encompassing 20 participants fed via gastrostomy; and group II, encompassing 20 participants fed via the oral route.
