Rhodium(III) catalysis has been used for C-H activation of -nitrosoanilines with substituted allyl alcohols. This method provides an efficient synthesis of the functional -nitroso β-aryl aldehydes and ketones with low catalyst loading, high functional group tolerance, and superior reactivity of allyl alcohols toward -nitrosoanilines. We demonstrated that reaction also proceeds through the one-pot synthesis of -nitrosoaniline, followed by subsequent, C-H activation.

This study aims to investigate the in vitro antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic/apoptotic potential of active constituents of essential oils on two cancer cell lines; namely, breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7) and urinary bladder cancer (T24). Essential oils active constituents (EO-ACs) entail a spectrum of phytochemicals with widely demonstrated anticancer potential. We assessed the effects of eight essential oils active constituents on T24 and MCF-7 cell lines in both dose- (16-1024 µg/mL) and time-dependent manners.

Although parenteral iron is widely used to treat iron deficiency anemia (IDA), some side effects have been inadequately explored. Hypophosphatemia is becoming a well-documented, yet poorly understood, side effect of parenteral iron infusion, oftentimes causing serious and/or prolonged complications. In this article, we discuss the case of a 33-year-old female with IDA who suffered debilitating physical and mental symptoms of significant recurrent hypophosphatemia following a single standard dose of parenteral iron administration.

Article Synopsis
  • An innovative toothbrush was created with a rotatable shank and a flexible design to improve access to all surfaces of the mouth, aimed at reducing plaque and improving gingival health.
  • A randomized controlled trial compared this rotatable shank toothbrush with traditional flexible and straight handle toothbrushes to see which was more effective for plaque control and gingival health outcomes.
  • Results showed that the rotatable shank toothbrush provided better improvements in plaque removal and gingival health compared to the other types of toothbrushes used in the study.
