Heat stress in animals affects productivity, health, and reproduction, with particularly pronounced effects in dairy cows. Identifying heat stress requires understanding both physiological and environmental indicators, such as increased heart rate, respiratory rate, and rectal temperature, which reflect the animal's thermal condition within its environment. Thermoregulation in cows involves behavioral and physiological adjustments to maintain homeothermy, aiming to stabilize their internal thermal state.

To develop a green approach to recovering these compounds and valorizing okara, a study was developed to screen variables for the extraction of isoflavones from okara and soybean (for comparison) using Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) composed with choline chloride ([Ch]Cl) and acetic acid (AA) ([Ch]Cl: AA, 1:2). A fractional design (2) was used to evaluate variables in the extraction of isoflavones, followed by a Central Composite Rotatable Design (CCRD).

Colorectal cancer (CRC) affects the population worldwide, occupying the first place in terms of death and incidence. Synthetic peptides (SPs) emerged as alternative molecules due to their activity and low toxicity. Proteomic analysis of PepGAT-treated HCT-116 cells revealed a decreased abundance of proteins involved in ROS metabolism and energetic metabolisms, cell cycle, DNA repair, migration, invasion, cancer aggressiveness, and proteins involved in resistance to 5-FU.

It also discusses the types and modalities of evaluation of medical residency, with a focus on the assessment of competencies throughout in-service training, which were incorporated into the most recent CNRM resolution, at the end of 2023, which amended and updated the 2006 directives. Finally, it shows the experience of six Medical Societies that conduct periodic evaluation of resident physicians, presented at a Brazilian Medical Association event.

Listeners often find themselves in scenarios where speech is disrupted, misperceived, or otherwise difficult to recognize. In these situations, many individuals report exerting additional effort to understand speech, even when repairing speech may be difficult or impossible. This investigation aimed to characterize cognitive effort across time during both sentence listening and a post-sentence retention interval by observing the pupillary response of participants with normal to borderline normal hearing in response to two interrupted speech conditions: sentences interrupted by gaps of silence or bursts of noise.
