Objective: This study evaluated the effect of three-dimensional (3D) volumetric humeral canal fill ratios (VFR) of reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) short and standard stems on biomechanical stability and bone deformations in the proximal humerus.

Methods: Forty cadaveric shoulder specimens were analyzed in a clinical computed tomography (CT) scanner allowing for segmentation of the humeral canal to calculate volumetric measures which were verified postoperatively with plain radiographs. Virtual implant positioning allowed for group assignment (VFR < 0.

Let denote the standard Haar system on [0, 1], indexed by , the set of dyadic intervals and denote the tensor product , . We consider a class of two-parameter function spaces which are completions of the linear span of , . This class contains all the spaces of the form (), where and are either the Lebesgue spaces or the Hardy spaces , .

To report the safety and effectiveness of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) using the SLT mode of the VISULAS green laser in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Twelve months results are presented. Retrospective extension in 4 German centers of an initially prospective interventional multicenter 3-month clinical investigation using the VISULAS green SLT (Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Jena, Germany) in patients with POAG who either needed treatment escalation or commenced treatment and had an IOP ≥ 17mmHg at baseline, with no previous glaucoma or other ocular surgery.

We develop a nonparametric Bayesian prior for a family of random probability measures by extending the Polya tree ($\mbox{PT}$) prior to a joint prior for a set of probability measures $G_1,\dots ,G_n$, suitable for meta-analysis with event-time outcomes. In the application to meta-analysis, $G_i$ is the event-time distribution specific to study $i$. The proposed model defines a regression on study-specific covariates by introducing increased correlation for any pair of studies with similar characteristics.

Article Synopsis
  • - TP73, part of the TP53 gene family, produces different protein variants (TAp73 and ΔTAp73) with opposing functions through various genetic mechanisms.
  • - Newly developed antibodies for these p73 variants reveal that TAp73 is present in multiciliated epithelial cells, while ΔTAp73 marks non-proliferative basal cells in squamous epithelium.
  • - In cervical squamous cell carcinomas, p73α is commonly expressed and linked to lower tumor grades, whereas TAp73 appears less frequently and does not show significant associations with cancer characteristics.
