Malignant insulinoma arising from intrasplenic heterotopic pancreas.

Context: Heterotopic pancreas is defined as ectopic pancreatic tissue without vascular or anatomic continuity with the normal pancreas. The spleen is a rare site of origin. This case report describes a patient with a malignant insulinoma which originated from an intrasplenic heterotopic pancreas.

Laparoscopic drainage of pancreatic pseudocysts.

Background: Laparoscopic drainage of pancreatic pseudocysts (PPs) has been used in selected cases. The aim of this study is to analyze our results with the laparoscopic technique and to compare them with those of a cohort of patients treated by open surgery during the same time period.
