Background: Initial clinical studies of pulsed field ablation (PFA) to treat atrial fibrillation (AF) indicated a >90% durability rate of pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). However, these studies were largely conducted in single centers and involved a limited number of operators. View Article and Find Full Text PDFIt was widely accepted that malignant ventricular arrhythmias (VA) are the main direct initial cause for cardiac arrest and sudden cardiac death (SCD), but diverging data tended to demonstrate that asystole or pulseless activity were becoming the most prevalent cardiac rhythms at the time of cardiac arrest. We challenge here these conceptions and reinforce the persisting prominent role of VA in SCD.

- Arrhythmic risk stratification in Brugada syndrome is challenging, and this study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of automatically measured ECG parameters from digitized paper ECGs.
- In a multicenter study involving 301 patients, two ECG parameters (QRS prolongation in lead V1 and S duration on DI) were found to independently predict major cardiac events.
- The study concluded that automatic ECG analysis could effectively assess risk in Brugada syndrome patients by confirming known parameters and identifying new ones.
