Article Synopsis
  • PIM3 is a serine/threonine kinase and part of the PIM family, identified as a proto-oncogene frequently overexpressed in various cancers, particularly from endoderm-derived tissues like liver and breast.
  • It plays a key role in enhancing cancer cell behaviors such as proliferation, survival, and resistance to treatments, making it a significant target for cancer therapies.
  • Despite ongoing clinical trials for pan-PIM inhibitors, there are currently no FDA-approved treatments targeting PIM3, highlighting the need for further research in this area.

Objective: Zirconia implants are assumed to satisfy the esthetic requirements that titanium implants cannot meet, however, there are not enough studies in the literature about narrow-diameter and angled zirconia implants that can be preferred especially in the anterior region. This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the fatigue resistance and fracture strength of narrow-diameter zirconia implants with angled abutments.

Materials And Methods: Forty-eight one-piece experimental zirconia implants and monolithic zirconia crowns were produced from 3-YTZP blanks.

Naproxen is a common non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, which is the most usually used propionic acid derivative for the treatment of many types of diseases. In this study, a series of novel (S)-Naproxen derivatives bearing hydrazide-hydrazone moiety were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for anticancer activity. The structures of these compounds were characterized by spectral (H-C NMR, FT-IR, and HR-MS analyses) methods.

Carbendazim, is a broad-spectrum fungicide and also a promising experimental antitumor drug as reproduction and developmental toxicant, which is currently under phase II preclinical trials. In this study, an approach based on controlled and targeted release with aptamers and mesoporous silica nanoparticles was investigated to improve the antitumor activity of carbendazim. To this end, we synthesized aptamer conjugated silica nanoparticles for testing cytotoxicity properties with human cervical adenocarcinoma (HeLa) cultured cells.
