Hybrid endovascular and surgical staged approach for mycotic carotid pseudoaneurysms: a case report and literature review.

Background: Mycotic carotid pseudoaneurysms represent a challenge for surgeons. They are rare and associated with high mortality and morbidity.

Methods: We reported a case of a 61-year-old man with a mycotic pseudoaneurysm of carotid bifurcation.

Role of tactile stimulation during the preweaning period on the development of the peripheral sensory sural (SU) nerve in adult artificially reared female rat.

Maternal deprivation, as a result of the artificial rearing (AR) paradigm, disturbs electrophysiological and histological characteristics of the peripheral sensory sural (SU) nerve of infant and adult male rats. Such changes are prevented by providing tactile or social stimulation during isolation. AR also affects the female rat's brain and behavior; however, it is unknown whether this early adverse experience also alters their SU nerve development or if tactile stimulation might prevent these possible developmental effects.

Reference values for body composition in healthy urban Mexican children and adolescents.

Introduction: Given the increasing incidence of chronic degenerative diseases related to changes in tissues, the availability of diagnostic tools with greater accuracy in the estimation of body composition (BC) has become necessary. Interpreting the BC values of individuals requires reference data obtained from a healthy population with the same ethnicity, to identify individuals at risk for the development of negative health outcomes.

Objective: Generate reference values (RV) of body composition (BC) for Mexican children and adolescents.

Introduction: The Pharmaceutical Service (PS) for the provision of Medication compliance aids (MCAs) consists of reconditioning and unifying, in a protocolized manner and in multi-compartment devices, the medications used by a patient, ordering them according to their dosage guideline. The objective was to design, implement and evaluate an PS of MCAs in an institutional pharmacy in the city of Córdoba.

Introduction: The therapeutic use of the “cannabis” oil is a social problem that puts legal, health, scientific and cultural aspects under stress. Difficulty in access generates an emptiness exploited by the illegal market, to which patients and relatives resort to improve their health and quality of life. These oils, with unknown chemical composition, are used without therapeutic follow-up.
