Lipid-based nanocarriers have been in continuous development as strategies to enhance drug delivery efficiency. Liposomes are delivery systems primarily composed of phospholipids and cholesterol (or other suitable stabilizers) that have transformed the pharmaceutical field by improving drug targeting and release control. The success of this technology is strongly attributed to phospholipids, which are components of cell membranes, forming a biocompatible system.

Article Synopsis
  • Cervical dystonia (CD) often causes significant neck pain, which negatively affects patients' quality of life, and its mechanisms are not fully understood.
  • A proof-of-concept study involving 44 CD patients tested vibro-tactile stimulation (VTS) on neck muscles to see if it could alleviate pain.
  • Results showed that a majority of participants experienced pain reduction during VTS, with many continuing to feel relieved for up to 20 minutes after treatment, suggesting VTS could be a promising new non-invasive treatment option for neck pain in CD patients, though further research is needed.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the clinical and imaging manifestations of methanol toxicity during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to review existing studies on this topic. The most common cause of methanol intoxication is methanol-adulterated liquor. The primary metabolite of methanol, formic acid, is responsible for pathological changes.

Hydrogels offer a novel approach to wound repair. In this study, we synthesized a ternary composite using sodium alginate (SA), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and copper-doped 58S bioactive glass (BG). According to our mechanical testing results, the composite made of 7 wt% CMC and 7 wt% BG (SA-7CMC-7BG) showed optimal properties.
