Aim: To study the frequency of serological markers of CD in patients with NAFLD and CLD and their correlation with duodenal biopsy.
Patients And Methods: In patients with NAFLD, PBC, AIH and PSC, we studied anti-endomysium (AE) IgA by indirect immunofluorescence and anti-gliadin IgA-IgG (AG) and human anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA antibodies by an ELISA technique.
Background: The prevalence of Lyme disease in Chile is unknown.
Aim: To study the existence and epidemiology of Lyme disease in Chile.
Patients And Methods: One hundred eighteen patients with signs or symptoms suggestive of Lyme disease were studied.
Two sisters had autoimmune responses to the U1RNP particle that were quantitatively similar and/or identical in molecular characteristics. No other autoantibodies were demonstrable. Both sisters immunoprecipitated only U1RNA, had a reaction of identity in gel diffusion, bound the 68-kDa band in HeLa cell extract in Western blot, and reacted almost equally to a rabbit anti-idiotypic reagent made against either sister's isolated anti-U1RNP Fab fragments.
