Introduction: SARC-F (Strength, Assistance in walking, Rise from a chair, Climb stairs and Falls) is a validated screening questionnaire for rapidly assessing sarcopenia in older adults with a variety of diseases while the Rockwood clinical frailty scale (RCFS) is a commonly used tool for assessing frailty in older adults. However, there are no data regarding the use of these tools in patients with type two intestinal failure (T2IF). We aimed to compare SARC-F and RCFS to bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) and anthropometry in patients with T2IF.

A new approach was used to produce electrically conductive polyamide yarns, employing an electroless plating technique, which involved stabilizing silver nanoparticles on the surface of the yarn using Sn. First, the [Ag(NH)] complex was reduced using Sn to produce silver nanoparticle seed layers on the fiber surface, followed by a formaldehyde reduction. The nucleation and growth of silver nanoparticles on the fiber surface were observed through SEM images, demonstrating varying degrees of silver deposition depending on the silver concentration.

Immobilization material has slowly revolutionized since 3000 BCE from traditional plaster to modern day synthetic casting tape, including other sustainable immobilization material. This revolution is driven by the search for superior casting material that possesses excellent mechanical and load-bearing properties, non-toxicity, excellent healing rates, patient satisfaction and eco friendliness. Even though the new materials have been evolved, the traditional plaster still remains a material of choice owing to its excellent skin conformability, low cost and availability.
