Awareness and Utilization of Public Physiotherapy Health Care Services to Support People With Multiple Sclerosis: A Health Care Service Audit.

Background: To maximize functioning and well-being in people with multiple sclerosis (MS), physiotherapy consultation is recommended at the point of diagnosis and throughout the disease course. We wanted to determine whether patients with MS being managed through a large metropolitan hospital in Australia accessed physiotherapy input as part of their MS management consistent with evidence-based recommendations and to identify patients' self-reported physiotherapy requirements, including symptom management, information needs, and service delivery preferences.

Methods: Surveys were sent to 597 MS clinic patients, and 160 responded.

Breed distribution of spontaneous chronic corneal epithelial defects in UK dogs.

Background: This study aimed to assess the risk of bilateral disease in dogs affected by spontaneous chronic corneal epithelial defects (SCCEDs) and identify any recent changes in the distribution of breeds affected.

Methods: Medical records of dogs assessed at a single ophthalmic centre for the management of SCCEDs between 2007 and 2020 were reviewed, and clinical data were extracted.

Results: Three hundred and seven dogs met the inclusion criteria.

Prophylactic efficacy of intravenous paracetamol administration to reduce the incidence of post-operative ocular hypertension in dogs undergoing phacoemulsification: A pilot study.

Purpose: To determine whether intravenous administration of paracetamol can prevent postoperative ocular hypertension (POH) in dogs following routine phacoemulsification.

Methods: Diabetic and non-diabetic patients (total 54 dogs) undergoing unilateral or bilateral phacoemulsification were recruited to this placebo-controlled, prospective study. The control group received 1 ml/kg saline via intravenous infusion while the treatment group received 10 mg/kg paracetamol via intravenous infusion.

Magnetic resonance imaging of the normal canine eye using a T1-weighted volumetric acquisition.

Purpose: MRI is becoming increasingly available within the veterinary profession, and eyes are frequently included as part of a cranial study. The advantages of volumetric imaging are numerous, when compared to traditional two-dimensional imaging, and could be utilised within the veterinary setting. This report describing the normal MRI appearance of the canine eye, aimed to establish a standard reference range on a T1w volumetric acquisition.

The prevalence of uveitis in a population of donkeys in the UK.

Background: Uveitis is reported to be a leading cause of blindness in horses. Little work has been undertaken to date to investigate whether donkeys are affected by a similar disease prevalence.
