Article Synopsis
  • * Conducted on 65 CD patients, the findings showed that 32 exhibited the bright luminal sign, which demonstrated high sensitivity (90%) and specificity (85%) in identifying fibrotic strictures when compared with other imaging techniques.
  • * The results suggest that DWI hyperintensity could serve as a non-invasive indicator for detecting severe intestinal fibrosis, aiding in early diagnosis and potentially preventing complications. However, further research with larger

This study aimed to demonstrate the potential role of dual-energy CT in assessing bone mineral density (BMD) using hydroxyapatite-fat material pairing in postmenopausal women. A retrospective study was conducted on 51 postmenopausal female patients who underwent DXA and DECT examinations for other clinical reasons. DECT images were acquired with spectral imaging using a 256-slice system.

Article Synopsis
  • A recent increase in studies on feline hepatozoonosis has revealed limited knowledge about the specific species and genotypes affecting cats, with at least three known species: Hepatozoon felis, H. canis, and H. silvestris.
  • A study in Niterói, Brazil, collected blood samples from 28 cats and found H. felis DNA in 75% of the samples, along with four previously unreported genetic variations.
  • This is the first report of H. felis in Rio de Janeiro cats, indicating a complex of different genotypes within the species, highlighting the need for further research to understand their biology and potential health impacts on felines.

The aim of this study was to validate externally a nomogram that relies on MRI volumetric parameters and clinical data to determine the need for a standard biopsy in addition to a target biopsy for men with suspicious prostate MRI findings. We conducted a retrospective analysis of a prospectively maintained database of 469 biopsy-naïve men who underwent prostate biopsies. These biopsies were guided by pre-biopsy multiparametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (mpMRI) and were performed at two different institutions.

Warming of the ocean waters surrounding Greenland plays a major role in driving glacier retreat and the contribution of glaciers to sea level rise. The melt rate at the junction of the ocean with grounded ice-or grounding line-is, however, not well known. Here, we employ a time series of satellite radar interferometry data from the German TanDEM-X mission, the Italian COSMO-SkyMed constellation, and the Finnish ICEYE constellation to document the grounding line migration and basal melt rates of Petermann Glacier, a major marine-based glacier of Northwest Greenland.
