[Results of modified radiotherapy in the treatment of patients with uterine cancer].

A ten year experience gained in radiotherapy with radio modifiers of 480 patients with cancer of the cervix uteri and of 189 ones with endometrial cancer carried out at the Central Research Roentgeno-Radiological Institute of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences is analyzed. Local administration of metromidasole with dimethysulfoxide essentially enhanced the detrimental effect of radiation on the tumor. This is reflected in a higher incidence of local control in radiotherapy of patients with cancer of the cervix and corpus uteri.

[The proteins of human mixed saliva in galvanism and yeast-induced stomatitis].

Mixed salivary pools of normal subjects and patients with galvanism, yeast-induced stomatitis, and diabetes mellitus were examined. The examinations have revealed elevated alpha-amylase levels in the patients with galvanism and still higher levels of this enzyme in yeast-induced stomatitis and diabetes mellitus. These diseases are also associated with a rise of lactoferrin content and with appearance of fibrinogen degradation products.

[Immunochemical characteristics of the surface water-soluble antigens of Yersinia enterocolitica].

The extraction of acetone-dried bacteria by means of tris-glycine buffer has been found to yield the greatest number of antigens. Thus, up to 16 antigenic components with different electrophoretic mobility have been revealed in Y. enterocolitica.
