CT demonstration of normal gastric wall thickness: the value of administering gas-producing and paralytic agents.

The authors analysed the CT-findings in 100 normal subjects who underwent a modified double-contrast technique (D.C.).

CT evaluation of mediastinal lymph nodes in primary Sjögren syndrome.

Computed tomography was used to evaluate mediastinal lymph nodes of 25 patients with primary Sjögren syndrome (pSS) and in 38 control subjects. Abnormally enlarged nodes, according to accepted CT criteria, were detected in four pSS patients and in 10 control subjects (differences not significant). The presence of enlarged mediastinal nodes did not correlate with peripheral lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly, parotid enlargement, or cryoglobulinemia in the pSS group.

Tremolite whitewashing and pleural calcifications.

Radiologic screening of 688 inhabitants of the Metsovo area in Northwest Greece revealed that 323 (46.9 percent) had pleural calcifications. The percentage of positive examinations rose with age.

Selective renal angiography in Wegener's granulomatosis.

Two patients whose illnesses meet the criteria of Wegener's granulomatosis are presented. Selective renal angiography performed in both revealed multiple arterial aneurysms similar to those classically found in polyarteritis nodosa.
