Anti-gene oligonucleotides belong to a group of therapeutic compounds, which, in contrast to antisense oligonucleotides, bind to DNA. Clamp anti-gene oligonucleotides bind through a double-stranded invasion mechanism. With two arms connected by a linker, they hybridize to one of the DNA strands forming Watson-Crick and Hoogsteen hydrogen bonds.

Application of EMG feedback for hand prosthesis control in high-level amputation: a case study.

EMG feedback improves force control of a myoelectric hand prosthesis by conveying the magnitude of the myoelectric signal back to the users via tactile stimulation. The present study aimed to test if this method can be used by a participant with a high-level amputation, and whose muscle used for prosthesis control (pectoralis major) was not intuitively related to hand function. Vibrotactile feedback was delivered to the participant's torso, while the control was tested using EMG from three different muscles.

Circulating biomarkers of macrophage activation in different stages of chronic pancreatitis: A pilot study.

Objectives: Activation of type M2 macrophages has been implicated in the pathogenesis of chronic pancreatitis (CP). In a clinical pilot study, we investigated blood-based markers of macrophage activation at different stages of CP.

Methods: We performed a cross-sectional analysis of prospectively collected plasma samples from healthy controls and patients with suspected or definitive CP according to the M-ANNHEIM criteria.

MicroRNAs and hypospadias: A systematic review.

The aim of the present study was to summarize what is known about the role of microRNAs (miRNAs/miRs) in relation to hypospadias. Therefore, a systematic review was performed by consulting the electronic databases, MEDLINE (PubMed) and Embase. The search strategy consisted of both MeSH and free text terms, including hypospadias AND miRNA.
